6th Dec 2023

Derrychrin PS Christmas Show

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you are aware, the Derrychrin PS Christmas Show will take place in Derrychrin school hall on Tuesday 12th December with a Matinee Show at 10:00am and an Evening Show at 6:30pm

Christmas Show - ‘Children of the World’

The P1 children will perform their Christmas Show ‘Angel Express’. The P2 to P7 children will be performing ‘Children of the World’ where you will discover a little bit about Christmas around the globe. The P4-P7 instrumental group will also be performing Christmas tunes on the night along with our school choir.

**IMPORTANT COSTUMES AND UNIFORM INFORMATION**

P2-P7 children are to wear non-uniform/normal clothes to school Monday 11th December for the dress rehearsal and Tuesday 12th December for the Matinee. P1 children are to wear school uniform as normal for both days.

Class teachers will keep parents/carers informed of costume requirements for all shows.

Children in the Choir and P4-P7 instrumental group should bring their Christmas jumpers to school on Monday, and these can be left in school to wear for the dress rehearsal, Matinee and Evening Show.

Costumes for the children who are involved in the roles of Angels and the Tableau will be kept in school for both days.

**IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION**

Following the Education Authority health and safety advice, insurance guidelines and restricted seating capacity, we must enforce a strict policy of admission by ticket only.

Post-Primary children without a ticket cannot be admitted and are not allowed entry to the school building at any time.

In previous correspondence to parents, ticket numbers are limited to two tickets per family for the evening show to accommodate all families.

Deadline for purchase of tickets for family members to the evening show tickets has now passed. Any remaining tickets are now available on a first come first basis for additional family members who wish to attend. There are currently 94 tickets available for the Matinee Show and 9 tickets for the Evening Show.

Pre-purchase of tickets is essential for both shows. Admission is by ticket only with a limit of 200 tickets available for each show. Tickets are £5 and must be paid for in the shop section on School Money. All tickets already purchased have been sent home with pupils today.

**IMPORTANT EVENING SHOW INFORMATION**

All pupils will remain in their classrooms throughout the whole school performance. P2-P7 children need to remain as they will all come together at the end of the show for their final performance. We would kindly ask parents NOT to collect their child/children from the classroom and bring them to the hall at any stage during the performance. It is important that everyone adheres to this request due to health and safety guidelines.

Pupil Arrival

P4/5/P6/P7children involved in the Tin Whistle and Guitar Music group should arrive for 6pm.

All other children in P1-P7 should arrive for 6:15pm and make their way to their classrooms where they will be supervised by staff.

Parents/Carers Arrival

Parents should aim to arrive approximately 10 minutes before the start time of the performance. Parents should enter via the main front door and make their way to the school hall.

Pupil Collection

At the end of the whole school performance, parents are asked to collect their child/children from the classrooms.

Car Parking

There will be a limited number of car parking spaces available in the school playground and we would ask everyone to please follow directions from members of Friends of Derrychrin PTA to ensure the safety of everyone attending the event.

Friends of Derrychrin PTA Christmas Draw

There will be raffle tickets available on the night from 6pm-6:30pm in the hall from members of the Friends of Derrychrin PTA. There are fantastic prizes to be won, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who kindly donated prizes.

The draw will take place at the end of the Christmas Show with members of Friends of Derrychrin PTA making the draw.

Additional Information

John O’Neill will be in attendance to take photos of the performance on the night.

Miss Hughes will oversee the sound and stage directions on the night.

We look forward to welcoming the Derrychrin School Community to an evening of Christmas spirit and celebration of Christmas.

Yours sincerely
