School Vision

Our vision for the future of Derrychrin PS is to create a school community where everyone works together to provide a broad, well balanced and well planned curriculum and where there is a positive ethos of promoting achievement for the good of all pupils. We want our pupils to develop skills and attitudes that will enable them to learn how to learn, become more socially adept and manage theirs and others feelings and emotions effectively.

The vision for the school will aim at establishing positive learning attitudes, raising self–confidence and self-esteem. We want to encourage our pupils to become confident, independent and responsible by developing their personal and interpersonal skills and their ability to work effectively with others.

The school will aim to create an environment where learners can develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and morally. We want to foster an ethos of challenge and high expectation with high self-esteem and respect and understanding of other’s cultures and beliefs. We want our pupils to develop a loving relationship with God in an environment where Catholic values are embedded in the life of the community. Everyone will be treated with kindness and respect.

The vision for the school will be shared, understood and agreed by all staff and pupils who will work collectively as a coherent team. Good practice will be shared and disseminated between all staff members to enhance the teaching and learning process for everyone.

We believe it is vital to work in partnership with parents and actively encourage them to become involved in the life of the school. We recognize the importance of continuity in the learning process and will share expertise and experience with other schools and settings.

We look forward to the challenge, embrace new initiatives and strive towards the success of everyone associated with our school.
