♻️ Recycling Assembly ♻️

12th Oct 2023

♻️ Recycling Assembly ♻️

♻️ 🌎 Today Miss McGuigan and our ECO Team delivered an assembly on the importance of recycling. They spoke about all the different ways that we can recycle in school and how important a role everyone can play in caring for the environment.

The children were informed of all the products that we can recycle in our blue, brown and black bins. The school community can also avail of battery recycling point that is located at the school reception area. Derrychrin PS are also a collection point for Terracycle so that crisp, biscuit, wrappers and bread bags can be recycled, with a designated green bin located at the school.

Miss McGuigan and the ECO team reminded everyone about Recycle Week which will be celebrated next week 16th October - 22nd October 2023. There will be an art competition for everyone to produce a poster which will be used to remind us all of the correct bin usage. The ECO team will also carry out 'spot checks' on classroom bins - weighing how much rubbish is in our general waste bins.

We thank the ECO team for planning and leading the assembly. We shall continue to follow the message of the 3Rs of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and encourage the school community to support the children in caring for their local area and environment.

Outstanding work by all the staff and pupils especially Miss McGuigan, Siobhan and Nikki. Keep up the great work! 🌎 ♻️
