Primary 5 have been very busy this week learning about line symmetry in Maths.
As part of their Maths warm up they focused on their Mental Maths competences by recognising, reading and writing numbers up to 100. Symmetry practical activities involved the children were working in pairs finding out how many lines of symmetry a square and rectangle have by cutting out the shape, folding them correctly and then drawing the lines of symmetry. They followed up this up with group work by finding out about lines of symmetry for various triangles, quadrilaterals and regular polygons. Children added all their shapes to their class learning journey wall display.
The final activity involved quiz questions on line symmetry using Kahoot! Well done to all the children!
