Congratulations First Communicants 2022

14th May 2022

Congratulations to all our wonderful Primary 4 children who celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist on their First Holy Communion day this morning. We had two lovely ceremonies and the children were terrific.  They prepared so well with their readings, prayers of the faithful, communion reflection singing and mass responses.

It was lovely to have parents and siblings come together to celebrate the occasion. We had other family members unable to attend who viewed the ceremony on the Parish webcam.

A special thank you to their class teacher Mrs Hassan and teaching assistants Katharine, Maeve and Nikki for preparing them so well for the ceremony and producing wonderful artwork that is on display at the back of the Chapel.

Thank you to all their teachers, teaching assistants and school staff for continuing to support them on their faith journey.

Thank you to all parents for helping prepare the children for today and having them look so lovely in their outfits.

Thank you to Fr. Donnelly for celebrating the ceremony with us today and offering words of advice to the children. A special thank you to John Wilson and the altar society for preparing the chapel and having it looking wonderful with all the lovely floral displays.

Many thanks to John O'Neill as always, for taking all photographs that will be cherished for many years to come. Thankfully we had glorious sunshine for the photos to be taken outside.

We look forward to the children coming to school on Monday wearing their First Communion outfits to take a whole class photograph and have a special get together in the hall.

As a school community, we are immensely proud of the children and we hope that they all have a lovely day with their families, cherishing many special memories.
