🙏 Congratulations to our First Communicants 2025 🙏

Congratulations to all the P4 pupils from both Parish schools Derrychrin PS and Ballylifford PS, who made their First Holy Communion and received the Sacrament of the Eucharist on Saturday. The children were terrific with their readings, prayers, responses, singing and music. It was an occasion of great joy and happiness, as parents and family members came together to mark an important stage in the children’s faith journey. Thank you to Fr. Donnelly for celebrating the mass ceremony.

Thank you to our P4 class teacher Miss McGuigan along with Ballylifford P4 teacher Ms. Hurl for preparing the children so well. Thank you to Miss McGuigan and our teaching assistants Katharine and Michelle on helping the children produce wonderful artwork on display in the Chapel and in school.

A massive thank you to Miss Hughes who prepared the children fantastically with their singing. Well done to our P5 guitarists and the P4 tin whistle instrumental group in performing their beautiful Music. A special mention to Donal Canavan who teaches the instrumental group with his expertise in all their weekly practices. Both the choir and instrumental group were absolutely fantastic.

Thank you all the teachers and all the school staff for preparing the children for today and on their faith journey to date.

Thank you to Philomena McGuckin who prepared the children for the Sacrament of Penance and First Communion by leading weekly lessons as part of the ‘ All God’s Children’ Programme. Philomena also assisted and guided the altar servers who performed their duties so well during the ceremony. Special thanks to Geraldine Mullan alongside Philomena for co-ordinating the ‘All God’s Children’ programme for both Parish schools.

To John O'Neill as always, for taking all photographs that will be cherished memories for our families. John O'Neill (Sperrins Photography) can be contacted by email rallypictures@btinternet.com or by telephone to purchase photos.

To our Sacristan, John Wilson on his dedication on the immaculate church grounds and making the chapel available for all practices. To the altar society for preparing the chapel and having it looking wonderful with all the lovely floral displays.

As a school community we are very proud of the children and we hope that they all have a lovely weekend with their families, cherishing many special memories and enjoying the fabulous weather.
