Flu Vaccinations

19th Nov 2025

The PHA have been in contact with all School Nursing teams to advise Flu is circulating much earlier this year and information suggests that it will be more serious than previous years.

There are already a number of schools within the NHSCT  where Flu has greatly affected the pupils with huge sickness levels and absences.

We have been asked to circulate the attached poster or if a parent has changed their mind about vaccination.

All children in P1 to Year 12 will be offered the flu vaccine in school.

Most children receive the vaccine via a nasal spray. It is a quick and painless procedure, often described as a tickle in the nose, and is preferred for children over the injected flu vaccine due to its effectiveness and fewer side effects

We are urging parents/guardians not to forget to sign and send back the consent form.

Thanks you again for your continued support.
