IZAK9 - Bring Your Grown Up
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As you have already seen on our social media something exciting is happening in the New Year. We have teamed up with Ulster University, IZAK 9 and the Department for the Economy for a collaborative after-school initiative called BYGU (Bring Your Grown Up).
We are hoping to run the programme in our school assembly hall for all Key Stage 2 (P5/P6/P7) children and their grown-ups. It will run over four consecutive weeks in January. This will be a brilliant opportunity to work with your Key Stage 2 children in a fun, creative and highly engaging environment. All whilst helping develop strong mathematical and reasoning skills.
There will be no writing, no testing, no direct questioning and no assessment of any kind, just fun-filled sessions of active maths using these IZAK9 cubes.
We need at least 40 adults to allow us to engage in this programme, adults can be any one the child knows and can include, both parents or parents and grandparents. Tea, coffee, counting and craic will definitely be guaranteed on the evenings. We very much hope to see you at these sessions and if you have any questions about the programme, please contact the school directly.
We are doing an expression of interest to choose a feasible time to host the sessions. Please understand the dates and times will be determined by the most preferred choice. We would kindly ask parents/guardians to complete the online form on our school website.
