☘️Là Glas (Green Day) ☘️

13th Mar 2026
To begin our St. Patrick’s Day and weekend celebrations Mr McElroy delivered an assembly in which the children displayed their wonderful talents of singing, traditional music and Irish dancing. The running order for the day started with our instrumentalist group showcasing their wonderful talents playing Irish tunes on the tin whistle and guitar. The rest of the staff and pupils were treated to tunes including I'll Tell Me Ma, Star of the County Down, Dirty Old Town and Whiskey in the Jar….Amazing!

A huge well done to our Primary 1-7 pupils on each of their class performances.
P1 - Buail do Bhosa and The Leprechaun Dance
P2 - Oh my Johnny and Lord of the Dance
P3 - Galway Girl and All on St. Patrick’s Day
P4 - I Tell Me Ma and Rattlin Bog
P5 - Hail Glorious St. Patrick and When I grow up I want to play County / Oooh Ahh GAA
P6 - Amhrán na bhFiann agus An Haka Gaelach
P7 - Irelands Call and St. Patrick’s Flame

We had a great day celebrating our Irish Culture and our Patron Saint.

Comhghairdeas le (Congratulations to) all involved and thanks to all our families for the great efforts to turn our boys and girls out in their ‘Glas’ (green). We wish all our school community a very Happy, Peaceful and Joyful St. Patrick’s Day. Maith sibh a pháistí (Well done children)
