Recently Miss McGuigan and the Eco-Council welcomed Ann from NI Water to Derrychrin PS. As part of our ECO Schools Action Plan, the Eco-Council had requested for a water butt. The children are very aware of how beneficial the water butt would be installed next to our new storage shed in the P1 and P2 playground. Firstly, to reduce water waste, use the water collected to water our vegetation and wild flower garden, help to enhance the biodiversity in our area and also to provide water for our new outdoor learning area.
