‘TAKE 5 School’ Platinum Award
We are delighted to announce that Derrychrin Primary School has been awarded Platinum Level as a TAKE 5 School. This prestigious recognition reflects our sustained commitment to promoting wellbeing and celebrates the progress made throughout our TAKE 5 journey over the past four years.
During this time, a wide range of wellbeing initiatives have been embedded across school life, supporting pupils’ emotional health and fostering a positive, nurturing environment for all.
Our TAKE 5 and Being Well, Doing Well lead teacher, Mrs McGuckin, alongside Mr McElroy, recently attended a celebration event with primary and post-primary schools to mark this achievement and formally receive the award.
As a school, we remain committed to further developing awareness of CLANG and the TAKE 5 Steps to Wellbeing, helping pupils to recognise opportunities to support their own wellbeing and that of others. This work also extends to staff, parents and the wider school community. The TAKE 5 framework complements the EA’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy (2020), which promotes key themes including Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, Social Health, Giving Back, and Financial Wellbeing.
By continuing to develop these principles, we aim to support everyone in recognising stress and anxiety, while equipping them with practical strategies to manage challenges effectively.
We are extremely proud of this achievement.
