P5. welcome Mr Martin this week on his teaching placement from St.Mary’s University College Belfast. Mr Martin will be in the P.5 classroom for the next 6weeks with lots of fun and engaging learning planned.
With recent tragic events in Turkey, many children were today interested in how earthquakes and natural disasters happened. One way to support this interest in learning and develop curiosity in the world around us is by investigations. We used Global learning and STEM to help the children understand. Mr Martin led today’s lesson and the children made their own erupting volcanoes. This also gives them an insight into Acids and Alkalines and their use in our world. They were introduced to the PH scale and can place several items on this.
