What Makes Things Float?
21st Apr 2026
Today in World Around Us, P3 became Buoyancy Experts as we tested which items float and which sink. We experimented with everything from coins, plastic bottles and spoons to tinfoil and fruit to see what would happen. We found out that denser (heavier) things usually sink, while less dense (lighter) things stay on top. The class also spotted a cool trick: if an object has air trapped inside, it’s likely to float! To finish off, we tested some mystery items and took turns explaining our discoveries to the rest of the groups.
