World Book Day Celebrations 2025

7th Mar 2025

St. Mary's University College Students Lead the Way in Celebrating World Book Day!

This year, our enthusiastic students, took the lead in celebrating World Book Day. They got on board coaches within the school, county stars and even our GAA President Jarlath Burns, helping spread the joy of reading through these video messages.

To make this day even more special, they collaborated with the local authors of 'My First Gaelic Football Match', Kevin O'Boyle, Gerard Doherty and illustrator Ciarán Orchin to add to their videos, highlighting the importance of reading. These videos showcase the fun and excitement that reading brings to our lives and also emphasises the importance of reading for enjoyment.

A big thank you to Miss Delaney, Miss Rafferty and Mr McVey for their enthusiasm in making this assembly a huge success. Their efforts have further highlighted the importance of reading and have inspired our boys and girls to read more.

Let's continue to celebrate the magic of books and the joy of reading every day!
