Aaron Devlin Memorial Tournament 2026

Dear Principal / Teacher‑in‑Charge,

We are delighted to announce that the Annual Aaron Devlin Memorial Tournament has been confirmed for Friday 15 May 2026 at Ballinderry Shamrocks GAA, with a 10.00am start. To ensure the tournament runs as efficiently as possible, we kindly ask that all participating schools arrive by 9.45am.

Tournament Format

  • Separate boys’ and girls’ competitions
  • Each school may enter one boys’ team and/or one girls’ team
  • Derrychrin Primary School, as hosts, will enter two teams in each competition
  • The tournament will consist of an initial group stage, followed by Cup and Shield knockout rounds
  • Both the boys’ and girls’ competitions will be played in a 9‑a‑side format
  • Teams will be accommodated where a school is only able to field 7 players

In accordance with a rule passed at the Derry County Convention in March 2017, only boys may play in boys’ competitions and only girls may play in girls’ competitions. This rule will apply throughout the tournament. Further competition details and full tournament rules will be issued once schools have confirmed their attendance.

2025 Winners

The 2025 tournament winners are kindly asked to ensure their school name and year are engraved on the relevant cup or shield, and to bring it on the day or return it to Derrychrin Primary School in advance of the tournament.

  • Boys’ Cup – Holy Family PS, Magherafelt
  • Boys’ Shield – Crossroads PS, Kilrea
  • Girls’ Cup – Derrychrin PS, Ballinderry
